Amazon Logistics Delivered But Not Received: What to Do if Amazon Says Delivered But No Parcel Arrived

Quick answer: If Amazon Logistics says your parcel was delivered but you have not received it, check the delivery address, delivery photo, safe-place note, neighbour/reception delivery, delivery attempt notice and order tracking. If the parcel is still missing, report it through Your Orders and ask Amazon, the seller or Marketplace support for a refund, replacement or proper proof of delivery.
Before you contact Amazon again, collect your proof

A strong complaint should include your Amazon order number, tracking status, delivery photo, delivery timestamp, safe-place or neighbour note, delivery address, chat messages and why the proof does not show delivery to you.

Amazon Logistics delivered but not received is a high-intent problem because the tracking already says “delivered”, but the parcel is not with you. The missing parcel might have been left at the wrong address, left outside, put in an unsafe place, handed to someone else, marked delivered early, hidden near the property, delivered to reception, or misdelivered by the driver.

This guide is for UK Amazon orders where the tracking says delivered but you cannot find the parcel. It is especially useful for Amazon Logistics deliveries, Amazon Prime deliveries, Amazon delivery photos, safe-place disputes, neighbour delivery issues, and Marketplace orders where Amazon or the seller refuses to refund.

If your Amazon parcel has not arrived and the tracking has not yet changed to delivered, use our Amazon parcel not arrived guide. If the issue is with a different courier, see our parcel marked delivered but not received guide.

Important distinction: Amazon-sold, Fulfilled by Amazon and Amazon Marketplace seller orders can have different routes. Start in Your Orders, then use Amazon support, seller contact or the A-to-z Guarantee depending on who sold and fulfilled the item.

Amazon says delivered but no parcel — what to check first

  1. Confirm the delivery address in Your Orders. Check the full address, flat number, postcode, business name and delivery instructions.
  2. Open the full tracking details. Save the delivery timestamp, delivery status, courier/service and any tracking events.
  3. Check the delivery photo. Does the doorway, floor, garden, porch, reception area or building entrance match your address?
  4. Check safe places and nearby locations. Look around bins, porches, sheds, side gates, mail rooms, receptions and parcel lockers.
  5. Check neighbours or building staff. Ask only where it is reasonable and safe. Save what they say.
  6. Look for an attempted delivery notice or message. Sometimes the order page or app has more detail than the basic email.
  7. Take screenshots immediately. Save the tracking and proof before the order page changes or the photo disappears.
  8. Report the missing parcel through Your Orders. Choose the order and use the problem-with-order/missing-package route.

Amazon’s own missing package checks

Amazon’s UK help page for a missing package that shows as delivered tells customers to confirm the shipping address, look for a notice of attempted delivery, check around the delivery location, see if someone else accepted the delivery, and wait for a possible delivery update before contacting Amazon if the package still has not arrived.

Those checks are useful, but they do not mean you should accept a bad delivery photo or unsafe drop-off as final proof. If the delivery photo does not match your address, the parcel was left somewhere you did not agree to, or the order page only says “delivered” with no clear evidence, save everything and escalate in writing.

Work out what type of Amazon order it was

The route can differ depending on who sold and fulfilled the order. Use the order page to check whether it says sold by Amazon, dispatched by Amazon, Fulfilled by Amazon, or sold and dispatched by a Marketplace seller.

Order type Who to contact first What to ask for
Sold by Amazon and delivered by Amazon Logistics Amazon Customer Service / Your Orders Ask for a refund, replacement or proper investigation if the parcel was not received.
Fulfilled by Amazon Amazon Customer Service / Your Orders Ask Amazon to investigate the delivery proof and provide refund or replacement if missing.
Marketplace seller, delivered by Amazon Amazon support and/or seller, then A-to-z Guarantee where eligible Ask for seller response, refund/replacement, then A-to-z claim if unresolved.
Marketplace seller using their own courier The seller first Ask the seller for proof of delivery and resolution, then use A-to-z if eligible.
High-value OTP delivery Amazon Customer Service immediately Save OTP messages and explain if the code was not used by you or the parcel was not handed over.

Evidence to save if Amazon says delivered but nothing arrived

Amazon missing parcel disputes often turn on evidence. The order page may show a photo, timestamp, safe-place instruction, one-time password status, neighbour note or delivery message. Save it before it changes.

Evidence Why it helps
Amazon order page Shows order number, item, seller, price, delivery address and delivery status.
Delivery photo May show the parcel was left at the wrong door, unsafe place or unidentified location.
Delivery timestamp Helps show whether you were home, at work, away, or whether the timing conflicts with events.
Safe-place or neighbour note Shows whether Amazon says it was left somewhere specific and whether you agreed to that location.
Photos of your door/building Useful if the Amazon delivery photo does not match your address.
Messages with Amazon or seller Shows when you reported the issue and whether they refused, delayed or promised action.
OTP or high-value delivery evidence Important if Amazon claims an item was handed over after a code or signature process.
Neighbour/reception response Useful if Amazon claims someone else accepted the parcel.

If the Amazon delivery photo is not your door

This is one of the strongest dispute angles. Do not only say “I do not recognise the photo”. Explain why it is not your address: different door colour, different floor, different hallway, no flat number, wrong porch, wrong building entrance, unfamiliar mat, wrong bins, wrong reception, wrong street or no matching feature.

What to say:

The delivery photo does not appear to show my address. My front door/building entrance looks different because [brief reason]. Please investigate the misdelivery and provide a refund or replacement if the parcel cannot be recovered.

Take your own photo from a similar angle. Do not include unnecessary personal information, but do show enough to demonstrate that Amazon’s proof does not match your delivery location.

If Amazon left the parcel in a safe place

If you specifically chose a safe place and Amazon left the parcel there, Amazon may argue it followed your delivery instruction. But if the parcel was left somewhere you did not agree to, left in plain view, exposed to theft or weather, or left outside a block/communal area, you can challenge whether that was proper delivery.

Citizens Advice says you should check your terms, conditions or account details because they may include other places for delivery, such as your porch or a neighbour’s house. If you agreed to them, the seller may not be responsible if the order goes missing. But if the item was not delivered to the location you agreed, it is the seller’s legal responsibility to sort out the issue.

Be precise about safe-place wording.

Do not say “Amazon stole it”. Say the parcel was not delivered to the agreed location, the proof does not show delivery to you, or the parcel was left in an unsafe/unagreed place.

If Amazon says a neighbour or receptionist accepted it

Ask Amazon to identify the delivery location or recipient enough for you to recover the parcel safely. If they cannot provide useful information, say that the parcel has not been delivered to you and ask for a refund or replacement.

If you live in flats, student accommodation, shared housing or a building with reception, check any mail room, parcel room or concierge desk. Save what they say, especially if they confirm no parcel was received for you.

If Amazon used a one-time password

High-value Amazon deliveries sometimes use a one-time password. If Amazon says a one-time password was used but you did not receive the parcel, report this immediately. Save screenshots of the OTP email/text, delivery timestamp, chat transcript and any evidence that you did not give the code to the driver or did not receive the item.

The Guardian has reported UK cases where Amazon initially refused refunds after one-time password delivery disputes, later refunding after escalation. These reports are not your evidence, but they show why you should keep a written record and challenge weak proof if the parcel was not actually handed to you.

Short message to send Amazon if the parcel says delivered

Use this as a short first message. Keep the full formal complaint for your paid letter generator.

Subject: Amazon order marked delivered but not received

Hello, my Amazon order is marked as delivered but I have not received the parcel. The order number is [order number]. The delivery status shows “[status]” at [time/date].

I have checked the delivery address, safe places, neighbours/reception and the area around my property. The parcel is still missing. Please investigate the Amazon Logistics delivery and confirm whether you will provide a refund or replacement.

This is starter wording only. A stronger ParcelClaim letter should include the delivery photo issue, safe-place dispute, seller type, screenshots, previous replies and the exact outcome you want.

If Amazon refuses a refund because tracking says delivered

Do not let “tracking says delivered” end the dispute if the evidence is weak. Ask Amazon to explain what proof shows the parcel was delivered to you or to a location you agreed to. If the photo is wrong, unsafe or unclear, say so. If the parcel was allegedly handed to someone else, ask who and where.

If Amazon keeps refusing, ask for the decision to be reviewed, save the refusal messages, and consider whether the order was Amazon-sold, Fulfilled by Amazon or Marketplace. The next route may be A-to-z Guarantee, a formal complaint, chargeback, or Section 75 depending on the order and payment method.

Marketplace sellers and the A-to-z Guarantee

If your order was sold by a Marketplace seller, you may need to contact the seller first. Amazon’s UK help says if a seller does not respond within 48 hours, you may be eligible for the A-to-z Guarantee. Amazon’s A-to-z page says the guarantee covers delivery and item condition issues, and includes cases where you have not received your package and three days have passed since the latest estimated delivery date or confirmed delivery.

For Marketplace orders, keep:
  • seller name and order number;
  • delivery estimate and confirmed delivery status;
  • seller messages and dates;
  • Amazon delivery photo or courier proof;
  • screenshots showing you reported the missing parcel;
  • any A-to-z claim or appeal decision.

Can you get a refund if Amazon Logistics delivered to the wrong place?

Yes, you can ask for a refund or replacement if the parcel was not delivered to you or to the location you agreed. Under section 29 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods generally remain at the trader’s risk until they come into the consumer’s physical possession, unless the consumer arranged their own carrier outside the trader’s options.

For Amazon-sold or Amazon-fulfilled orders, the practical route is usually Amazon Customer Service through Your Orders. For Marketplace seller orders, you may need the seller route and A-to-z Guarantee if the seller does not resolve it.

Can you use chargeback or Section 75 if Amazon refuses?

If Amazon or a Marketplace seller refuses to refund or replace a missing order, you may later consider payment escalation. A chargeback may be possible depending on your bank’s rules and deadlines. Section 75 may apply to some credit-card purchases if the legal requirements are met, though Marketplace arrangements can sometimes complicate the debtor-creditor-supplier chain.

Before contacting your bank, gather the order page, tracking, delivery photo, messages, refusal evidence and proof that the parcel was not delivered to the agreed location.

Amazon Logistics delivered but not received FAQs

What should I do if Amazon says delivered but I have not received it?

Check the delivery address, delivery photo, safe-place note, neighbours, reception and the area around your property. Save screenshots and report the missing parcel through Your Orders.

Who is responsible if Amazon Logistics delivered to the wrong place?

If Amazon sold or fulfilled the order, use Amazon support. If it was a Marketplace seller order, contact the seller and use A-to-z if eligible. If the item was not delivered to the agreed location, the seller generally has to sort out the issue.

What if the Amazon delivery photo is not my door?

Save the photo and take your own photo showing your actual delivery location. Tell Amazon exactly why the delivery photo does not match your address and ask for a refund or replacement.

What if Amazon left the parcel in a safe place?

Check whether you had agreed to that safe place in your account or delivery instructions. If the parcel was left somewhere you did not agree to, or the proof does not show delivery to you, challenge it with Amazon or the seller.

What evidence should I save?

Save the Amazon order page, tracking, delivery photo, delivery timestamp, safe-place or neighbour note, delivery address, chat transcript, seller messages, OTP evidence if relevant and photos of your actual delivery location.

Can I use the A-to-z Guarantee for a missing Amazon Marketplace parcel?

Possibly. Amazon says A-to-z covers delivery issues, and you may be eligible where you have not received your package and three days have passed since the latest estimated delivery date or confirmed delivery. You may need to contact the seller first and wait for a response.

Can I do a chargeback if Amazon refuses to refund?

Possibly, if Amazon or the seller refuses to refund or replace a missing order and your bank’s chargeback rules and deadlines are met. Save all tracking, photos, messages and refusal evidence before contacting your bank.

Can I use Section 75 for an Amazon missing parcel?

Possibly, if you paid by credit card and the purchase meets the legal requirements. Marketplace arrangements can be more complicated, so keep the order details, seller identity and payment evidence.
